Nice coin to have in that condition but the price! As an OFEC collector I picked up a nice one from Ajaan in the $40's with no more than two or three rim dings-very pleased at that price.image

It won't fit in a slab but NGC will issue a cert for it. The French Piedfort I won in Boiler's giveaway came in a flip with the NGC cert for the same reason.

I didn't know that, one would have to wonder if the coin and the NGC cert could be swapped around.....

I've always loved Cartwheels. One day I'd like to have a gilt proof!

On another topic, those're some nice Nazis in your sig, Glenn. (If one can use "nice" and "Nazi" in the same sentence!) That first 5-rpf has some pretty amazing surfaces, considering how crusty one usually finds the zinc pieces to be.

(PS- is it a proof, by any chance?)

None of them are proof Rob, just UNC, the zinc one has some amazing color on it, that the photo does not do full justice too. I have hoped I have not insulted anyone
with this sigline, I only have the interest in the history and the coins, nothing more. I'm gonna change me sigline soon anyway.....

  • Well if you have to slab it you could always fill a 9" pie pan with clear liquid acrylic and place the coin and NGC cert in gently. Pour slowly so you don't have any bubbles distracting from the coin's appearance when the acrylic hardens. image

Rhound, I also am extremely impressed by the quality and beauty of your 3rd Reich coins. I've never seen any anywhere near that nice.
