Esnipe has worked well for me. They charge a percentage for each auction won

...unlike other services who only charge a monthly subscription charge.
  • AuctionSniper has worked for me, on the few occasions where I've felt the need to snipe. They also charge a percentage.

If you're going to snipe, you're going to pay through the nose anyway, so the percentage they charge is a drop in the bucket.

I used Bidslammer for awhile and it worked fine. They charge 10 cents per snipe plus a percentage that will range from 25 cents up to $5 depending on the sale price. $5 is the max even if you win a $10,000 item. If you don't win, or cancel your snipe, it's back to 10 cents.

You buy blocks of "Bid Bucks" or something like that to fund your snipes, and you get extra bucks depending on how much you buy at one time. For example, $20 gets $25 worth of snipes. $100 gets $150 worth. If you can't monitor all your auctions, it's pretty reliable. Just factor in the cost when you bid.

They also offer a free service which gives you 5 snipes/week, which is enough for me most of the time. If I need more, I use AuctionStealer, which gives me an additional 3. I've never had a problem with either, although JustSnipe has a much nicer interface, with a JustSnipe button you can put in your links bar and click when you are at an auction you want to snipe.

I've used AuctionSnipe, eSnipe , and JustSnipe. JustSnipe is by far the least expensive and is just as reliable as the other 2 .

    Did I leave anything out?
  • Just goes to show you that there's always someone out there finding clever ways to make a buck. Sniping service?????! It would be interesting to see who would win if multiple bidders used this service trying to win the same item!

I use eSnipe, but it is getting expensive. I like the idea of paying a monthly fee vs. a percentage per win - JustSnipe seems like a better way to go.

  • Well, I signed up with Justsnipe. They have a free plan (limited snipes) and, just as everyone said, a $5 plan.

I have snipes set for 6 auctions now.

The minimum amount of snipe time is 5 seconds B4 the auction closes.

    Thanks for all the help!

  • I have never used this service but it says on thier website that the software is $9.99 with no other fees! Seems better than paying a monthly or per snipe fee or so they say. May want to check them out..

heres a working link.. sounds like a good idea, but sniping came in real handy this year when the hurricanes hit Florida and my power was out for several days.. I was able to put in a bunch of snipes before the hurricane hit, and I didnt have to worry about missing any auctions..

it doesnt seem like this software would fire off a snipe if your computer isnt connected to the internet, which would eliminate the scenario above.. whereas "Justsnipe.com" is on somebody elses server and will fire off snipes whether my computer is plugged in or not..
