    In an ebay listing:

"I do not know anything about coins..."

usually describing a counterfeit, harshly cleaned, low-grade, low-end for the grade, damaged, or otherwise undesirable coin.

    I find "NEWPS" irritating.

Also, I dislike the following: Someone will post pictures of a coin and ask for opinions, and someone (let's call him Cameron) responds with the one word, "cleaned". That's it, cleaned, end of story. Can a cleaned coin not be a good deal if the price is right? Can an otherwise fairly scarce, old, nice, and fairly attractive coin not be an acceptable and collectible piece, deserving of more than a single word of disparagement?

Also, while we're on the subject of Cameron, what's the obsession with "free flips"?
Anytime anyone mentions flips, or becoming a coin dealer, or staples and staplers, the guy has to chime in with something about free flips.

It's old, dude, get over it.

end of rant. Hey, you asked!

The way it works is GregTheGreat is actually lower on the food chain than Cameron, so he gets constantly ragged on. Cameron, of course, gets ragged on by mostly everyone else. image

Biggest peeve? People who refer to simple die cracks, die gouges, recuttings, etc. as error coins and expect a premium (or expect you to ooh and ahh over the coin for which they paid that undeserved premium). Everybody repeat after me...

"Die varieties are not error coins."

    smoe is another one.

Someone wrote "smoe" when they meant "some"

    it was funny.

now, we have people writing "smoe" on purpose.

I'll bet some of them accidently write "some" and then go back and change it to "smoe"

omg, I'm dying of the hilarity! stop please, I can't take laughing so hard, stop before I bust a gut!
