<< <i>Any coin damage? >>
I consider a 21 Morgan in 40 to already be damaged.

How was it packaged ???
which was in a bigger regular envelope, don't know if our or the UK machine ate it up.
I wonder if the post office will make me whole ??

Eric, your two coins arrived safe and sound, thanx.

You can see where the slab was lying in the envelope.

"Did you send the seller these pics? I'm sure they ship others like that too"
hopefully the seller is checking out this thread, not his fault.

I think a truck tailgate was slammed down on it - it was in a padded envelope that had a hold punched in it.
(either that or somebody hit it with a hammer)

<< <i>Wow...paid double what the coin was worth and got it in a broken holder. I'd be pissed. >>
what 20 bucks?, still cheaper then submitting such a coin. I want a PCGS grade set of the 21 morgans and this one fit the bill.
No I'm not pissed, that's the reason they make those bumper stickers,

Why step over the dollar to get to the cent? Because it's a 55DDO.
the seller, who is a forum member, offered to reimburse me for the coin.
I respectfully declined, itza $10 coin, and really not worth the hassle shipping it back.

Did you send them in a cardboard mailer, and then in an envelope. I warned you about that. This has happened to me 3 times in the last 6 months. I no longer send coins in the "sticky cardboard mailers" inside regular envelopes. If you send "registered" different story,
(they handle them differently, and lock them up), but regular "insured" mail...............you will see this from time to time.
Need to send them in a box
<< <i>When I ship slabbed coins I put them in a little baggie (just in case the postman wants to put them in the rain for some time), always ship priority mail so I use a VCR sized box and put styro peanuts all around it. I have never had a problem. Sometimes ebayers are pissed about paying $4 for shipping but they get the coin, intact, and everyone is happy. I hate it when PCGS send single coins back in flat envelopes, especially when they are $3K coins. >>
I ship most of my stuff in boxes, roughly the same size as the small priority boxes. For a single silver dollar in the slab, the postage comes out to $1.52, and the boxes cost me 52¢ each delivered, for a total of $2.04. That's a savings of $1.81. Those priority boxes are not free, and quite to the contrary, cost you a lot more.
