I searched the forum for a stolen coin registry, but didn't find anything of substance. If you have any info about where else I could list this coin to get more exposure, please reply to this thread. This coin was stolen from the mail- please keep your eyes open for this one. I sent the coin on approval to a long time friend, priority, insured, with signature confirmation. Lo and behold the coin never got delivered. The insurance will cover the price I paid for the coin, but no where near the real value. Please contact me if you have any information about this coin, or happen to see it for sale in any venue. I have all of the appropriate paperwork to prove purchase and ownership. You can contact me by email at travis_prim@hotmail.com. Here are the details:

I once had a priority insured coin take a month!!!!!!!!!!!!! The USPS here gave me flack about giving me a refund on the shipping so I filed a complaint on the matter comparing them to the Pony Express. I got my money back within days.

My personal or good stuff is registered only !
By the way, you CAN insure it for the value it's worth even if you paid substantially less for it. You need proof of value, which could come in the form of a greysheet or if you have sent the coin on approval as you stated, you could insure it for the value you had agreed upon. So proof of value could come in the form of a written agreement to buy/sell or even an email.
I called my congressman and had full payment within 2 weeks of providing a couple letters from dealers confirming the REAL value.
<< <i>Buffnut, I know it is too late on this coin, but please take my advice when shipping coins in the future. I see this coin is valued at well over $1000. The postage on your package had to be over $16, and with that much postage and a blue insurance sticker, it was a beacon for theft in the system. In the future whenever you send a valuable coin like this, only ship it via registered mail. >>
