A nice PSA 9 Bird/Johnson rookie card. I sold my PSA 8 in an effort to pay for that Bill Russell autographed rookie card I picked up, figuring that I'd eventually want to upgrade the 8 anyway.

(Baseball) a raw NrMt 1987 Topps #508-Scott Bankhead (if I can afford it)

and then for my basketball collection- a PSA 5 (or better) 1948 Bowman #46-Horace McKinney RC

finally for football- a nice raw or graded 1950 Bowman #32-Ray Poole
    or a 1948-52 Exhibit W468--Charlie Justice.

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • Akbar,
I pulled a handful and they're sitting on my table. There's also an '88 Trammell and an '86 Scott Bradley. Nobody sent me addresses. Just email me your address and I'll get Mr. Bankhead off to you.

  • One of two cards:

    T201 Cobb/Crawford (PSA 5)
1951 Bowman Willie Mays (PSA 4/5)

I'm also looking to add a 1973 OPC Mike Schmidt.

dgf, thanks again and check your email inbox for messages received on November 29th. I tried to just forward that email again from my "sent box", but I'm not sure (and curious) if the original or forwarded email was received by you.

p.s. I could PM the info to you if you wanted to turn on your PM function. Let me know and happy holidays!

Gator - packcollector may still have a PSA 8 of that card for sale.

I think the next big card I add will be a '64 Topps Giants, although it might be a '76/'77 Topps basketball card.

Seriously, I have no idea what my next large purchase will be. I don't plan for particular cards.

  • cool topic!

1963 Topps Sandy Koufax PSA 8
    1966T, 1971T, 1972T raw and in 8s
    1963T Dodgers in 8s
    Pre-war Brooklyn 5s or higher
  • Well, some day I'm going to stop getting distracted by lesser cards and clear out budget room for a Molitor/Trammell rookie in 9. I've also had on the back burner to pick up a PSA 10 '97-98 Topps Chrome Tim Duncan for a while, which is a little more affordable. As far as non-Alan Trammell cards go this is about the biggest one on my want list.

A nice HOFer 71 Greatest Moments. My next addition will put me over 50% for the set finally, but prices have been crazy lately. At least, the ones I've been planning to bid on are way high, and the ones I ignore end cheaply. A Billy Williams closed for under $100, Rose for around $150, but a Brock was bid up to over $600 and reserve not met.

I might suffer a guilty pleasure and get a nice Pujols rookie card like and Elite or something. I've decided he's pretty good.
    WANTED:
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs

    Nothing on ebay

Thanks for the compliment. The cards I have in my Collector's Showcase are all ones I've purchased. I have a lot of in-person signatures, but haven't bothered getting them slabbed yet.

A PSA 9 1965 Topps Catfish Hunter rookie card. I only collect 9's and that's one of the few HOF rookie cards that I don't have that I'll be able to afford. Also a PSA 9 PD Reggie or Nolan Ryan rookie, but I don't even know if one of either exists.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
  • I've always wanted a nicely centered PSA 7 1957 Frank Robinson. I feel that Frank's a little underrated as an all time great.
  • There are a few "big" cards, but the biggest is going to be a perfectly centered Ryan rookie in PSA 8
  • Shooter, you're definitely right about the PSA6 '53 Mays being tough to find. And EXPENSIVE - I just bought a pSA 5 at the Fort Washington show for $800.

When I first saw this thread, I was going to post "1938 Goudey Bob Feller", but then I bought one this afternoon. I am now FINISHED buying cards until I can replenish the bank account.
