That being said he will be a good fit as he has excellent defense and can hit above average for
a shortstop.
my hotels
a Doug Mentkeiwicz, Hanley Ramirez (SS prospect), and other player/cash
going in a trade for a top starting pitcher.
Getting Renteria makes absolutely no sense at all with SS prospect/Ramirez
waiting in the wings.
I will make a prediction that even though it is reported that Hudson will
be going to the Dodgers, the Red Sox are going to make the A's an
offer they can't refuse for Hudson.
<< <i>It will be Hanley Ramirez, Arroyo and B.Y Kim for Tim Hudson if Oakland agrees and Hudson agrees to at least a one year extention. >>
I'll personally drive them all out to Oakland to make that deal! Arroyo is a good young pitcher, though - but to answer your question zsz70, this is exactly what I hope Theo is thinking here by signing Renteria. If it's not Hudson, maybe Ramirez (or Youkilis) goes somewhere else in a trade for a top pitcher.
Pitching wins championships, and Arroyo
has youth and a lot of upside to him.
If they lost Derek Lowe, then they have
to keep Arroyo.
The Sox have an extra shortstop/Ramirez
and first baseman right now.
It was smart replacing Cabrera with Renteria.
