Pin collectors: Can you ID or date this Bench pin?

The only markings are A-31 in the dark area to the upper right of his helmet. Nothing on the reverse or along the rim. Thanks.

I am not a pin collector, nor can I tell you the specific brand/set that comes from. It does look very familiar though and I believe it's what they used to sell at Riverfront Stadium back in the early 80's. I think my little brother had that exact pin. I'm sure this info is as useful as having an extra appendix...

I have a similar pin of Nolan Ryan and it's from 1981 if that's any help.

Con, how do you know it's from '81? I believe charlie is right and these were sold in stadiums, because the last owner of this one said he was a stadium vendor in the late '70s and early '80s. So 1981 sounds right. But he has no idea who made them, or what A-31 means.
