1922-P Peace VAM-8 Binion

I have a 1922-P Peace dollar from the Binion Hoard. It has lots doubling on the obverse...date, profile, tiara rays, LIBERTY. Isn't there a lot of doubling on 22 Peace dollars? How can tell if this is a VAM-8 or just extensive machine/strike doubling? What grade do you think this is?

I don't see any of the signs that it's a VAM 8..... just a doubled 2 which is somewhat common...... Looks like she grades a MS60.... What is just below the "R" on the obv.... a mark?

Yes, I think it's big bag mark or scuff. Don't have the coin in front of me, but I could get it in the morning (if I thought it was a VAM-8!). I gather the VAM-8 doubling is much more noticeable? I have a few 22P's, and this was the only one with a double profile and letters. There's also a die gouge on the reverse under DOLLAR, but I've seen this on a few coins too. It came from Coin Vault... 3 Binions for $99.

The raised mark in the reverse field below 'DOLLAR' is a clash mark, not a die gouge, IMO. I've seen the same/similar markings on several date/mint marks of Peace Dollars. I agree with Peaceman on his remarks.

That looks ugly IMO......I prefer the satiny finish or a hard toning on these..

If you think that looks ugly, you should see the two Morgan dollars that came with the 3-pack. One looks like it was in a fire (almost totally black) and the other has mold growing on it. I would have sent them back, but these are the first three silver dollars I ever owned.
