Got notification of my 4 club gradings today. 3 good, 1 dissappointment. All in all very happy. They had the coins 25 total days.
1881 CC $1 MS65
1924 $20 MS65
1908NM $20 MS65
1901P $1 AU55 was hoping for MS60 or 61. I dont see the wear on it.
Not too bad overall. Was really happy with the 3 MS 65's!

I'm only half kidding when I say I think there's a sign inside the PCGS Grading Room that says:
"We don't give Mint State grades to raw 1884-S or 1901-P Morgans"

My guess is there's a large lustre break, as opposed to actual wear (or possibly in conjunction with very light wear). That and some contact marks probably took it down to AU55, especially if you had it pegged at 60/61, which would mean a relatively lustreless and very chattery coin.

You might wanna consider sending down more of your raw Morgan's, as well.
