Bad Ebay Experience Today- Buyers Take Note

Well, I dont like blowing the whistle on people but i have to on this one:

ebay seller: jgainnm

This fellow has 99.7% feedback and i bought a psa 6 al aber 1957 topps card off him for 7.00...10 with shipping. I sent him a 10 dollar bill in the mail for it. He apprently hasnt recieved it.

When I suggested we wait a few more days and I will then repay with check/paypal via this following copy and paste:

if nothing arrives in the next couple days i will resend check or pay though paypal. Let me know

...I got this:

No payment has been received as of today's mail. If it is not received by Thursday 12/16, I will file an ebay non-paying bidder alert.

NOT EXACTLY HOW YA WANT TO TREAT A CUSTOMER AFTER THEY TELL YA THEY SENT PAYMENT, IT DOESNT ARRIVES, AND THEY TELL YOU THEY WILL SEND OUT ANOTHER....AGAIN.....Am I really supposed to jump all over this thing now after being threatened??? this is ridiculous

I congratulated him on being a wonderful ebayer and told him to relax or we both would be having a merry negative christmas. I then stated how was I to know he hadnt pocketed the 10 bucks....I mean who is at a loss here?????

Just remember this guys name....jgainnm.......and his email.......jgainnm@yahoo.com....AND STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!

What a butt-nugget, I send cash sometimes to people with good feedback, it's so much easier than going to get a money order, and everybody likes to receive cash, (I don't do paypal by the way), I never send more than 20 dollars in cash though. I've not had a problem yet. It's funny how cash seems to get lost in the mail a lot. I've done almost 300 ebay transactions, and never has one of my payments gotten lost, yet some people are always having their mail lost. He's got the money, he just wants more fast. Don't give it to him!

Oh, but the way, if anybody wants to know a good seller they can trust with cash, 4 sharp corners has always come through for me. I send them cash alot. I never worry about them. Very trustworthy!

This is your own fault!!..Apparently you do not know how to send cash in the mail.

Please read this other thread so you'll know better next time. You'll have to use your own secret code though.

His reply to me telling him to calm down:

Frankly, I don't care whether you like my attitude or not, and I'm perfectly calm. I usually file a NPBA after 14 days without payment. If, in fact, you sent cash, then you have a problem because I haven't received anything from you. I always advise people never to send cash because the risk is clearly on the sender (I clearly can't 'prove' I didn't receive it any more than you can 'prove' you sent it).

As I stated, if payment isn't here by Thursday, I will file a NPBA. If payment isn't received within 10 days after that, I will leave negative feedback.

I am the same way the seller is, there has been numerous times I have had buyers tell me over and over that they sent payment only to never recieve it. 99% of the time they claim they sent cash, I have been strung along by buyers so much that I have developed a cold heart to that story. Like he said you cannot prove he recieved it as much as he cannot prove you ever sent it.

Lothar is a good guy - if he said he sent the $ 10 you can be sure he did. He was just trying to point out the nasty attitude of the seller. No sense in the seller getting his 'panties in a bunch' over ten dollars. He offered to pay him via paypal or whatever since the guy apparently did not receive the ten dollars. The seller still says he is going to report him to the authorities. I like to send cash also when it is a small amount. Who wants to drive out of the way for a ten dollar money order or wait two weeks for a $ 10 check to clear? How about a little support for a board member !!!

thanks jaybyrd.....the point of my post was this: THE ABOVE MENTIONED SELLER IS A A-HOLE. When a buyer who has just LOST MONEY states he will send more to make good on his purchase...you DO NOT respond back with a threat...its not kosher!!!! Come on....who really think a hot blooded guy like me who just lost 10 bucks to this guy ( he got the damn 10 bucks ) is going to lay down and let this guy threaten me with NPBA.....WHATEVER....

he says...OK man sounds great....in 2 days i pay with paypal after IM SURE its not going to get there. Gentllemen if you think working well with people is not a part of business your very mistaken. This guy could have been a little more understanding..especially with my 130 pos feedback with no negs....NOW WHAT?? WE BOTH NEG EACH OTHER...NOT A GOOD FREAKING F'IN PHILOSOPHY TO ME!!

I know Lothar is a good guy, but this situation reminds me of that line from The Godfather. "It's not personal, it's just business".
That's how I interpreted the sellers attitude. He didn't seem hostile. He was just stating his position. Since you were going to Paypal the money to him anyway, wait till you get the NPB notice (which is no big deal), and than Paypal the money and move on.
If he is truly honest and receives the cash in the meantime, hope that he sends it back/ or paypals a refund.
