hi mike, yes i saw that earlier in the week. for some reason (luckily for my wallet) much of that stuff doesn't intrigue me.

For a lot of the people who collect a set, they like companion pieces and I do also, to a degree.
This one is getting a little out of hand.

the companion pc's i try to collect is a wrapper, pack and box from the series in question. i guess proof cards and all the otherr things used in making the set is nice. but i have to draw a line somewhere. im already running out of space.....hehe
    Good for you.

Anyway, I couldn't or wouldn't afford close to 600 bucks for that item.
I would be willing to pay 75 but that's about it.

    Mike,
Nice spot on that piece but it didn't look connected enough to the Mars Attacks set to get me going.
My Mars Attacks hunt is the slowest journey I've got going right now. I set a budget limit on the grade I'm looking for and sticking to it. So far, I have 2 cards.

Usually the interest in any set starts with one card. I was at a flea market in 1991 and a guy had a bunch of ex graded 63F baseball cards and I thought the design was great! Fleer has done a retro set but there's nothing like the real deal.
I was considering the mars set a few years ago but procrastinated - the cost of the cards just keeps going up.

As I recall, amongst my juvenile gang, we preferred the '63 Fleer to the '63 Topps; the set was cleaner and more appealing. None of us gave a hoot for '60 Leaf when they came out (and the marble was just nuts!)
