Question about a Jim Brown item

Hi guys. I was looking at this item on ebay. I was impressed that it's PSA/DNA authenticated but it's hardly drawn any interest. I looked back through this guys feedback and found the exact same item, the exact same pic.... exact same certificate.... the serial numbers even match. The current item has not been described as a relisted item.

Has anyone dealt with this guy before? If it's legit, why is the interest so low?

Sorry, I haven't figured out the posting links thing.

    Linky

Here's your link. To make a link, simply click on the button that says "http" and has a picture of a chain. It should be just above the box where you type the text. Copy the link you want from the address bar and paste it into the dialog box that opens up. Hit "OK." Then, type the title for your link in the second box that opens up.

Ta da. You have a link.

The winner of the first auction did leave feedback for this seller and said, "fast shipping, item exactly as described,A++++", so I would be curious as to why the seller suddenly has another jersey with the same certificate and same serial numbers. Give him a call.
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
  • i wouldnt worry about it, those jerseys are a dime a dozen. when they first hit ebay they sold for 200-350 each....but since there are so many out there, most people who want one already have one. i'd be willing to bet as soon as this one ends, another one will pop up.

I have purchased balls from them and they are honest and legit - they do a lot of auctions and I would say that the pic is a "file" photo - my only criticism is they charge 10$ to ship a ball and they don't allow you a discount for more than one lot. As was said, contact them and ask. They have a very large inventory of psa/dna balls that go reasonable since they are slightly aged in color - if the price is really good on a psa/dna item, I can live with the discoloration.
The one thing I don't like is that PSA puts the COA numbered sticker close to the sig on some of their pieces.
    Good luck

  • Hey, I did give them a call and I feel like a doof. You were right that they were using a stock photo because they have multiples of that itme and deal in such a high volume. Worst thing is, it says right in the auction that it's a stock photo and not the actualy item for these reasons. Pays to actualy read the entire lisitng. Duh. Thanks for the feedback though guys.

One more question though. "They are a dime a dozen" Any idea how many of these were put out? My dad is a huge cleveland fan and this is still a nice piece so I think I'll pick it up for him for Christmas if the price stays within my range.

Any speculation on if having Couch's sig has hurt the value that much? I mean after all, it is Otto Graham and Jim Brown.

Again, thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated.
  • i think there are 1,999 of them and it was done in 1999... i'm assuming that's why it's got the 99 on the jersey (another thing that hurts its value). i don't think couch hurt the value, but the apex was reached after graham died. really it's just an odd combination, and it costs a good $250+ to have a jersey framed. for the money you can't go wrong with a jersey with two hofers on it, but i'm of the opinion you've got to really love the jersey to justify the framing.
