  • Neat. I’ve never heard of a 1961-S nickel. In my “House of Collectibles” 42nd addition Blackbook of Coins, it doesn’t even list one.

Now look what I did to myself, I created a bidding war. I can't wait to own this coin certified by such a well known third party grading service. image

  • The guy who slabbed it most likely assumed that being a proof, it must have been SF minted. image

That's what I was going to say. But hey, it's "slabbed," so it has to be legit, right? image
  • Thanks for bringing that up. I still need a slab from that company.

Hum... www.auctionsniper.com... My snipe is placed for $150K for the unique coin... because it's the only one in existance... oh, I can hear the hype now.

Honey, I put a second mortgage on the house... okay?

Note to self: I'm sure I can sell it for 300K tomorrow to all the unsuspecting people on the boards.
