John XXIII - The first cool Pope

I guess if you grew up in the 50's and 60's and you were Catholic, you saw a lot of changes in the Church. How mass was given - How communion was taken - Who was involved in the Church - Eating fish on Fridays, all of that changed, and it changed in large part due to John XXIII. He was I guess a people's Pope, with the type of charisma that JFK had. Unfortunately his reign was short - but in the time he held the Papacy, his presence was certainly felt. The 1962 Vatican mint set celebrates the Second Eccumenical Council, where many of the changes I talked about above took place. I actually got this mint set not realizing that it was of the Ecumenical Council, but of the regular design, and as it happened, I won a 1962 500L thinking that it would be a duplicate and that I'd keep the best looking one, but as it turns out, now I will have one from each of the two types of this year.
