Typical Mets to sign a big name player PAST his prime
With that being said i believe he will have some sucsess in the National League with no D.H and also pitching in a pitchers ballbark like Shea will benefit him
Mets still need alot of help if they're going to fight for the N.L East
Pedro can only throw 6-7 innings.
When he realizes that the Mets bullpen
isn't as good as Foulke and company,
he will be trash talking his own team in the papers.
His ability to pitch inside will change now that he
has to come to bat.
The most exciting game of the year will be when
Houston plays the Mets and Rocket and Pedro are
on the mound. Can anyone sell me tickets ?

they said the same thing about clemens when he went to houston... didn't seem to hurt him too much
and as for my opinions on the signing...
same as above... spent a lot of $ (& years) on a player past his prime. he will still be a great 6-7 inning pitcher for the mets for a couple years, but in my opinion, the signing was more for "headlines" than anything. minyana has been all over the place with the rumors for big names. seemed like he was more interested in getting a big name (pedro, sosa, etc.) than anything else. needless to say, as a mets fan, omar is not impressing me too much so far as the new mets GM
Looking for Penn State autographs/memorabilia/cards/etc
WANTED: Yogi Berra Signed Ron Lewis '69 Mets Postcard
I know he won a lot, but I didn't see any sportscenter
highlights with him clunking Piazza or anyone else in the
head with fastballs like he did in the American League.
So Clemens won with a good screwball and fastball in the NL.
Pedro doesn't have the fastball or stuff like he used to.
He only hits in the 90's sporadically now.
Sh$t ill go out on a limb here and say this still wont happen. I would of liked the piazza manny deal to go through.
