You can do the same thing yourself with MS Access. There is, however, a rather steep learning curve with Access...not to mention the upfront cost.

I already use Excel. Since it will import Excel data and presents them with pics, I'm considering this app for a more useful and visually attractive way to track my collection.

Why not just import your pictures into your Excel worksheet?

I started to, but it makes it harder to scan through all the listings. Reformating my files would do it, but if someone has already done better and as long as I'm going to redo it, it might be worth considering.
