Kevin Brown might stay put

"...they (Braves) won't be getting Yankees RHP Kevin Brown. The Yankees figure that if their trade partner would require them to pay nearly all of Brown's $15 million salary, they might as well keep him. . . . "

What an intelligent conclusion.... The Yankees have made some really strange decisions lately highlighted by the fact they let proven pitcher Lieber go.

Why shouldn't they keep Brown. Just because he made a small hole in the Yankee clubhouse does not warrant all the Yankee fans to dog pile on the guy. Brown was upset at himself. He wanted to be perfect and just got into the heat of things so he took a wack at the wall. I hope he never snaps like that again. Just say Ohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmm to calm down.

  • Hey,

What's the status on the Wright situation ?
Is the deal void if he fails the physical ?

Also, what's your opinion on the Randy Johnson situation ?

It's my perspective that the Diamondbacks will rape Steinbrenner
for Johnson because of the David Wells situation between AR-NY.
Either that or NY will never get Johnson at all.
How do Yankee fans see it.

Also, if you don't mind, what pitcher do you want to add to
your rotation. Keeping in mind that Tim Hudson is probably out
of the picture because the Yankees can't offer anyone in trade,
so I'm guessing free agents only.

R Johnson is an excellent pitcher, but I think the D-Backs are demanding too much. Besides, they have made some key acquistions and want to put out a competative team--Johnson included. The Yankees are having difficulty signing pitchers as it is, so they may just stick with what they have. The options of a trade limit what the Yankees can do. Yes, the D-Backs will stick it to the Yankees on any trade.

Wright might have failed his physical, we don't know for sure. Chances are Wright did not pass, contract cancelled.

Let us see, the Yanks have:

Brown, Mussina, Javy, Pavano, ....the fifth spot should be shared by El Duque and a Yankee farm hand. I really don't care for Martinez (he is too much a Red Sox). I like to gamble on a young pitcher. You know, more home grown talent.

The free agent pool has dried up. Johnson and Martinez are left, but one is going to be too hard to get while the latter should never be a Yankee.

Pedro is going with the Mets. I wonder why he thought it necessary to leave the Red Sox. Yeah, the Mets offered a year more on the contract, but money is not everything.....or is it?
