Roosie Question.

Picked up an old 'Library of Coins' Roosie album yesterday & was replacing some of them with better examples I have.
The first dat I replaced was the 1947-S. When I popped the one in the album, to my pleasant surprise, there was another in the same hole! This happened a total of 10 other times!image

But with the '47-S I noticed the 'S' was located in different locations relative to the torch.....is this common, I persume it is.

Up until a few years ago, the mint marks were hand stamped into the die, which slightly altered their position/angle relative to the design. This also helped produce repunched mint marks image

So I am right in presuming this is rather common.image

The 47S is one of the most common dates with "differences" including many RPMs and OMM's.......the best I've seen so far is a S/S/S/S which is really quite a piece of work! I also once had an S/D of which there are at least 2 different varieties.
