I bought a $35 coin and the PCGS case is in terrible condition and it makes the coin look all scratched. Seller say to return it, but I will have to eat $5 shipping plus return shipping.

Well, you and the "others" are incorrect. This forum is to post coins for sale (or auction) to forum members, coins that you are looking to buy from forum members, and trades offered.

Questions about your personal purchases belong on the US Coin Forum (for general US coins), PCGS Registry Forum (for Registry-related issues) or World Coin Forum (for foreign coins).

What bothers me is not that you made a mistake, as we all do, but your defiance and disrespect when ajia politely told you so.

Buy the coin, not the holder.

Cary1952, I agree with what RYK said. But, in answer to your question - yes, you are being too picky. There are literally many thousands of badly scratched holders floating around. In fact, it's gotten to the point where (other than in the case of newly certified coins) it's difficult to find coins in scratch-free holders.

And by the way isn't part of the idea of putting coins in holders is the holders get the scratches and not the coins.
