My wife (who is an angel) just gave me an early Christmas present....

A Dell Dimension 4700!

I am getting ready to unhook the old (very old) Compaq and set up the Dell. While I am doing this I may be away for a bit. I'll see you all from my new flat panel monitor in a day or two!

What do you mean you will be offline for a day or two. I mean how long does it take to hook up a new computer? It can't take more then five minutes to get everything hooked up.

I use a slightly older, smaller Dell from the 2400 series, and I love it.
I think you'll really like the 4700 !!!

It is a 17" flat panel, gives me a lot more desk space.

Which one? The regular or ultra sharp model? I am thinking of getting one and would like to know how craisp and clear the image is compard to a CRT monitor. I want THIS ONE.

P.S. I called DELL to ask about shipping. I told them I would only order it if they ship it FedEx Home Evening Delivery. They said they can not gaurentee a specific shipper only that it would be UPS or FeDEx. I told her nevermind.

The image is a bit more crisp and the LCD is easier on my eyes than the old CRT monitor, the best thing is all of the extra desk space I now have!
