A little help needed with these world gold coins, rev pics added!

Hello! My grandfather has asked me to sell his collection. It was mostly US,but there were 3 older gold pieces, and as I hardly know anything about foreign coins your help would be most apprecieted.
Please tell me your opinion of the grade, coin info.,and if you could tell me the values from the Krause guide for a grade range.I wasn't able to get reverse pics because my scanner crashed(it is still under warranty) so I'll list any rev. lettering.
Thanks!-Hayden

  • Values are from the now outdated 3rd Ed. 19th Century Krause, as I haven't got the new 4th Ed. yet.

<< <i>1849 French 20 Francs normal rev. with the angel and small rooster >>

    KM#757, 6.4516g, .900 gold, .1867 AGW, mintage 1,303,000 Paris Mint ("A" mintmark), $100 F, $125 VF, $175 XF, $500 Unc.

    << <i>1865 Italian 20 L rev. lettering: REGNO D'ITALIA at the bottom is L 20 with a cursive T on the left and a B on the right >>

    KM#10.1, 6.4516g .900 gold, .1867 AGW, mintage 3,109,000 Turin Mint ("T"), bullion value to VF, $85 XF, $115 Unc.

<< <i>Is this a Proof? 1915 denomination??? Austria or Hungary? rev. lettering "FRANC IOS I D G AVSTRIAE IMPERATOR" >>

"Franz Joseph I, by the Grace of God Emperor of Austria" on the unpictured obverse, and a bunch more titles on the pictured reverse, but I can't seem to find it under Austria in Krause. (Haven't checked the other possibilities yet.)

Edited to add Looks like you got your answers while I was still looking them up. The ducat is listed at 3.4909g, .9860 gold .1106 oz. AGW. Krause reports 996,721 restrikes minted from 1920-1936 with the phony 1915 date, with 1914 the last year of regular mintage. The non-proof is valued at 10% over bullion.

  • I'd have to see the pics of the obverse - that's actually the reverse you posted - of the French 20 francs. But if it's what I think it is - I'd be very interested in buying it myself.
