I've posted pictures here before of my different Gobrecht medals as distributed in the 1960's and 7o's by the Hqnover (PA) Numismatic Society. The 1966 edition, both silver and bronze, was originally put out with the words "one dollar" on the medal.
Well, the Feds didn't waste much time in stepping in and confiscating them! Surprisingly though, they made no attempt to get the ones that already had been sold and distributed. Needless to say, these are very rare and hard to find!
Luckily, I happen to possess two of the specimens in silver and two in bronze!
Well, for you enjoyment, here is one of the silver ones. Note the words "one dollar"!!!

I was just talking to the dealer I got this set from and he told me that ten years ago you could not even buy a silver one for less than $100. The bronze ones however, are a different story. I can probably get my hands on over a dozen of them for under $5 each.
