  • 18-8 are nice numbers.....but........

He did it in the very weak NL East.

He did it in a pitchers friendly park.

He NEVER faced teams with lineups like
    Anaheim, Boston, New York.
Although St. Louis wasn't all that bad until
they met the Red Sox pitching.

Mr. Pavano will be in quite a suprise when he faces
his idol in Fenway Park. Then we will all say welcome
to the majors....and by the way, enjoy working for the BOSS !!!

I had him in almost all of my fantasy leagues this year and do wish the Cardinals had landed him, but I can also easily see him becoming the next Esteban Loaiza. It'll be interesting to see how he fares in New York.

With their recent bullpen pick-ups, and Wright, this is not a bad move. Looks like they are trying to mix some younger vets into their starting staff. I wonder if they're done for now with the pitching staff until after the season starts.

Pavano is a good pitcher, but I thought he had BoSox in him all the way.

``It's been a real difficult decision for him. ... It's about Carl being happy where he's living and where he's playing.''

His agent seems to forget that Carl would feel at home in Boston. He makes it seem like Carl was always comfortable in NY. Pavano had everything to do with Boston, not NY. The agent just cares that he is getting a bigger cut with the NY deal than with the Boston deal. If not that motivation, then the agent is surely on something. He expects us to believe Pavano would not be comfortable in Boston, but in strange and pressure cooker NY. Who does he think we are? We are not dumb!!!! We can see right through him and money seems to drive this guy, not team spirit.

  • He won't be as bad as Loaiza, but he will be bad. Steinbrenner would have been smarter to flush that 42 mil down the toilet, or at least let him sign with the Sox so they could have killed him. I'll say it again, Pavano isn't even in Javy's league, and look how poorly Javy pitched last year in NY.
