1798 Draped Bust Cent

I have a question about this coin I purchased on ebay. I probably paid more than the value but to me it's worth every cent and I'm very happy with the purchase. According to the auction it's a 1798 Draped Bust Cent (S166) - Whisker Variety in XF40 condition. The seller was the owner of Frosty's Coin in NH so I'm not doubting it. I'm just curious if anyone here knows anything about these coins and their opinion of the grade and value. I'm not having very good look finding any information on the different varieties and their values.

Any comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated.

That does look like a moustache! Fascinating looking cent. There are some experts here who know more. But thanks for sharing this one.

S-166 - second commonest of the many 1798 varieties. Style II hair. Always has the large die crack on the reverse.

To imbed pictures, click on the colored square that says "image" when you hold the mouse pointer over it. It will ask for a URL, and you need to have your picture on a server where people who want to view it can download it.
