Does anyone here sell collector to collector or do auctions on Beckett.com?
Is this a good place to move cards? Any success or bad experiences?
I was looking at it and wondering if it was a good place to move some "junk" lying around...maybe to player collectors or team collectors.
Any input is appreciated!

<< <i>What about ungraded cards? I see a ton of crap posted...wondering if it's even worth their time. >>
I've bought some raw cards for completing some sets on beckett, and had reasonably good luck. The sellers I would definitely recommend are Lone Star and Steve Taft. I'm sure there are other good ones as well, and some real duds, like everywhere. Check feedback, just as you would on eBay.

What cards/sets are we talking about here? I'm assuming modern.

Most were in the range of 1975-1985, so fairly modern, yes.

I'm a collector and don't sell except for trading and have, on occasion purchased a card directly from a board member. You are the first, to my knowledge, to ask about selling on Beckett.com - how does it work? For some reason, I was thinking it would be stuff even newer than 1985.

I didn't originally ask, I just replied, but I can answer
Yes, I've had reasonably good luck on beckett, but I'm very careful who I buy from. I'd say my luck was as good as completing my 1973-1989 raw sets at sportlots.com, but not as good as my local dealers, where I can examine cards before buying (though their selection is more limited). Beckett sellers rarely have pictures with the raw cards, so good feedback for accurate graders is important. Basically, the cart system works a lot better than sportlots (which is unreliable and slow). You group the cards up into your cart and pay via paypal, credit card, etc. Shipping options are generally pretty extensive, but a bit expensive. The feedback system is similar to eBay, and much better than sportlots, because you can view feedback details you've left and others have left for you. The beckett search does not allow searching by condition, and does not display condition in the search results, so sportlots wins there. Some sellers offer real bargain prices on their cards on beckett -- I've not bought from any of those yet, but my guess is you get what you pay for, based on feedback.
Thanx, by replying to me, you provide info to yankee - I don't think I like the idea of no scans but as you say - if you trust the seller and is accurate in describing the card - you can be relatively safe. Have you, personally, sold anything?

No, I've only bought stuff. I don't know anything about becoming a seller or the related fees.
