New Record at Heritage Auction

I didn't buy anything at the Heritage Auction - that's a new record for me!?!

I was outbid on every proof Linc, Jeff and Washie that I was eyeing. I couldn't get in touch via computer or phone to check the status of the bids.

See what happens when you let work get in the way of collecting.

  • Badger,
Well, your record didn't last long - I didn't buy anything eitherimage. image We're tiedimage And I wasn't just "outbid" on several of those dcam wheatback Lincolns. image Tie Brokenimageimageimage There were some very strong prices. $2760 for the 1958 PR67DCam! WoW! Even $1610 for the 1956 PR67DCam was more than I was prepared to bid. Comparatively (and maybe absolutely), the 1957 PR67DCam at $2070 would seem a bargain. I wish I could have seen them in person.

However, the real reason I'm writing is because I wondered if you had received the 1951 PR66DCam Jefferson you bought on eBay. I suspect it is impressive. Do you have an image of it? If I hadn't gotten called into an "important meeting" that lasted "too long", you would have paid a few more nickels for itimage Work getting in the way of collecting...

    Koolkarma,

I'm picking up the 51 tomorrow. I am anxious to get a look at it.

I agree with you on the Heritage sale. I thought the 1957 67Dcam sold too low. I knew I had entered a higher bid. Heritages software was messed up and didn't take the bids. The software is fixed now but the coin is bye-bye.

I missed the 1961 Lincoln 69DCam last year at FUN. This is my second miss on that coin. Rats.
