The Details of the New British 2005 Gold Sovereign have just been released. A brand New Design - For this One Year only a modern design by Timothy Noad will replace the classic Pistrucci's design. Photo of the Reverse of the coin is an artists impression as supplied by the Royal Mint in their Literature. Oh man!

And the half sovereign looked like this:

The sovereign was probably listed before they got the new design. If you read the listing closely, there is a disclaimer that it is a photoshopped Pistrucci St George and that the actual design for 2005 will be different.
