As much as I handle old football cards, I still see things on cards that I never noticed before. Here's one that someone emailed me about: the 1969 Topps Sonny Jurgensen card has the Chiefs logo on it!
Another thing I (shamefully) never noticed is that on Jim Otto's rookie cards, he is wearing #50. By 1962 he was wearing his customary #00. On his 1964 and 1965 Topps cards, he is again wearing #50, so Topps evidently used old photos for those years.
(I love the expression on Jim's face on the 1962 Fleer card. Hey, Jim, look over here!)
Here are all of Jim's cards from 1961 to 1970, from #50 to #00 to #50 to #00 again.

Looks like Topps and Fleer had exactly one stock photo to choose from in 1961. At least one of the decided to change the background.
