Paypal Conversion

Whatever you do, if you can avoid exchanging/converting $$ to Euro's using Paypal then do so. I paid for a German transaction this morning in Paypal euro's (PE's) and was stuck paying PP an additional $25 due to the discrepency between PE exchange rates and the REAL WORLD conversion rate.

Either way you look at it, the $ vs Euro sucks right now with the dollar at .75 of a Euro...but PP only gives you .72!!! So how does PayPal get away screwing the consumer on this one? Anyone know?

Between this and the 4% fee, Paypal is making an already difficult shopping environment even more prohibitive.

Is this conversion rate against the law?

No, anyone is allowed to set their own value on $ or Euro.

PayPal does the same trick with $ ==> £ purchases. In order for me to partially defeat that, I have held run some of my auctions through ebay.co.uk.
