The title implies that you believe the hole is a bad thing and not a blessing, Do you not like this piece? If you don't, feel free to PM me and I'll purchase it from you for a fair price image

I like them, very nice and original, do you collect holed coins? Usually a lot of history in holed Frankies, a lot of soldiers wore them on their tags/on loops in pocket for good luck in Vietnam.
  • i collect all coins and tokens, even some early currency. didn`t know about the military side of these, VERY interesting.

It was actually a holed 1942 Walking Liberty half that got me started collecting coins. My grandfather had it on him through World War II, my Father through Vietnam, and then I did through a war and various combat ops during my years in the Army. But from what I understand, holed franklins were considered 'good luck' and many Vietnam soldiers carried them, so a lot of contemporarily holed ones that you find could very well have been carried by a man in combat image
  • WOW got cold chills on that one. i love this forum. i`ve learned more in a few days than i did in 6 months of books. guess i should read them instead of eating the pages.image
