What is the best way to grade vintage commons?

Hi- I'm looking for some advice on sending a group of vintage
1969 topps football cards in for grading. MY BIG QUESTION IS: Would it be best to send
in all 50 at one time or send them in in smaller groups? The reason
I ask is that I believe once the graders start looking at 50 of the same
cards they tend to grade a little tougher since they have so many to
look at . My only experience with sending in a bigger lot was with 1970 topps
glossy cards. It seemed to me the grades tended to drop as the list went on
and I felt all the cards were of equal quality. Any insight, advice, or past experiences
you can share will be greatly appreciated! Paul

Paul -- I would look very carefull through my cards if I were you and pick out the ones that you feel are the 20 best examples in the entire set. Mark down what you think they will grade out at, submit them and wait for the results. I think you will be in for an awakening. After you get the cards back, you will have a better idea of what you really own and whether further submissions are even worth the cost.
  • Pauk,
I swear by small submissions. I have had several results like yours with the larger ones. By the end, the grades are horrible. I never submit more than 25 at a time and I try to wait for the specials that allow the volume to go in at the same price.
