This is another reason why I love proof franklins- and moderns in general...

While bumming through ebay listings, I find this seller auctioning a couple of unslabbed proof franklins. I pick this one up for about $7.50 plus shipping, and it arrives today in this old, funky 3" x 3" plastic holder. The franklin is drop dead gorgeous- beautiful golden and pastel rim toning on both sides- a probable dcam reverse with the bell completely frosted over- a near dcam obverse with just a little bit of haze in the fields as the only distraction. SUBERB coin, and it cost me about $10- finding neat coins like this for next to nothing is just a great reward for trolling through proof sets and ebay raw coins.....
Obviously, the sellers photos are terrible.... I'm going to try and get some decent photos to share.... wish me luck........

Besides Lincolns, I have started collecting JFK's, Franklins and the modern dollars now. Am just learning about them. Ya don't see that many good looking Franklins in my neck of the woods and when you do, ya grab it before it's gone. Looks like that's what you did.
