That's a good price, but only a little lower than what they're worth (I'd say like $50-$75). It is absurd that pcgs lists it at something like $300, but of course... there's DLRC that has one they want something like $275 for. Anyone who bought that would have to be ignorant and would get ripped off big time.
  • do you think it would have sold for more if it had been listed as pcgs, and not pgcs as he has it in his listing?

That's always a possibility... I got a $50 coin for about $25 once on EBay because the dealer neglected to mention in the title that it was PCGS certified, and I had happened to hit the "Search titles and descriptions" box...

It's astounding that a coin like that can sell for $27.

How much 13-S or 24-D could one buy for $27 and what would be the pop on them? This
just shows how incredibly thin the market is for something like a 1979 cent.

  • For $27 it is a bargain. Do you realize how much time it would take to make that coin? Unless you are into getting paid $.01 an hour it was cheap. Nice purchase

I like my $0.01 an hour job. So does Brian I think!

Although, remember 98/4 is the highest pop of any ms67 copper Memorial cent. Most have much lower pops. And yes, the market is very thin... as I've seen ms67 80-d's for example, pop 20/0, sell for under $200 and over $600 within a few weeks of each other.
