    Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

    They should make various types of commemorative one cent coins in 2009 (of bronze, for collectors) and then just END IT.

    If the cent is not dropped after 2009, I propose that congress allow "In God We Trust", "E Pluribus Unum", and even "Liberty" to no longer be required on the cent to make room for an interesting design. Perhaps there will be room for "sales tax token" or "1/100 dollar" on lieu of "one cent."

    As for the subject matter, I too would like to see something other than a dead president, but doubt this will happen in only five years. Abe Lincoln is still fine by me, given all the inertia

    If we have to replace Abe, I think the original Chain Cent design would be more appropriate than an image of an actor. If we use an allegorical symbol not yet tried on U.S. coins, how about a one room schoolhouse? This could both celebrate all the penniless families left behind after the "no child left behind" act and give thanks to generations of those who struggled to teach all those varied groups of kids who went on to make up our economy.

    *my 2 suggestions are meant tongue image in cheek....but I think it really doesn't matter much as long as it is artistic and the model is not fugly!
    I don't give a rat's @$$ if it is another dead president or a hot pornstar (although, the latter would certainly be well saved...though, they would get too much natural "toning"). Too many people worry about the little things. Just don't make it clinton (either one) !

    Abe Fortas? All I remember about him is that after he was forced to leave the Supreme court in 1969, Nixon took a long time to name a successor to him who could be confirmed by the Senate.

    One of Nixon's appointees was a judge named Harrold Carswell. Some said that Carswell's judicial record was mediocre, to which Nebraska Senator Roman Hruska rebutted: "Even if he is mediocre, there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren't they. . . ?"

    Eventually a Nixon appointee named William Rehnquist got the job on the Supreme Court. He was so memorable that a year or two later, President Nixon had to refer to him as
