Mixed reviews on first submissions and question

I got my first 6 submissions back today. Boy, am I ticked, but not at PSA. First, the results:
1978 Topps Robin Yount PSA 8
1964 Topps Roger Maris PSA 5
1957 Topps Warren Spahn PSA 5
I can live with those grades. I had hoped for 6's for the Spahn and the Maris, but that's life. However, I got 3 1971 Topps cards returned as recolored I really learned my lesson on these cards. I don't know if the local dealer I bought them from had any idea. Luckily, they were not terribly expensive cards. The cards were Cito Gaston, Red Schoendist and Jim Fregosi. My question is this: Has this happened to any of you before and how did you handle it? Anyway, this does not make me want to quit submitting. Thanks for your answers.

at a show one time. Luckily this was an inexpensive experience for you and will get started on what to look for in the future.
It's best to pick up 10X loupe and an inexpensive halogen lamp. It doesn't surprise me about the 71's
but this will apply to any tough colored border cards. I'm glad you're not discouraged about grading. Hopefully
this will help you for future submissions.
