good time for bargains?

1994-P sms 5c pcgs ms-70

I put a low bid on this coin expecting it to go near $3,000.
Now I wish I put a serious bid in. image But only takes two
bidders to determine the price so maybe it's just as well
I didn't.

  • Yes I was tracking that coin but was $2900.00 commited to Teletrade. I would have bought that coin had I any idea it would sell for $1500 or less. The buyer got a super deal in my opinion.

I have been seeing some lowered prices on proofs (1950-1964) and some very firm prices. I have also been tracking the prewar nickel proofs. It is a mixed situation. I was suprised to pick up a 1938 Proof 68 Jeff at a price about $1k lower than four months ago. Then had to pay top dollar for DCAM Jeffs and Washies.

Looks like the market is seeking a direction.
