George, I'd be suprised if both 1835s were the same time. The loop of the 5 in the date is really thick in one, but narrow in the other. The right stars on the obverse are connected with a die crack on the one with the narrow loop 5. The just look substantially different.
LanLord: They have the same Reverse... that Reverse was paired with 3 different Obverse Dies... only one of those is a large date... the other two are small dates... both of your coins are Large Dates... the Obverse is exactly the same... the book notes that there is a die crack along the outside points from S9 thru S12... from the images, I don't see the die crack on either, but it could be there, and it also could have been worn away...
Your welcome I went back and double checked my work... sometimes it's hard to determine exactly where the scroll falls... and sometimes it's in one of those in between spots, and you gotta guess and compare, and eliminate certain ones, it was this way with these two... there are 3 reverse dies for the date that have similar scroll placement... but the position of I2 was able to confirm that they were the same Reverse die
