For comparison. First set were taken straight on, which show the detail and sharpness really well. the second set aren't quite as sharp, but show the the color and texture really nicely. Problem is that it requires a high aperture and thus slow shutter speeds and every tiny scratch on the slab will be magnified. Works well with coins with some color and texture to them. I like how they turned out.

What the thing that looks like a triangular depression in front of the neck? Looks like clash marks, but doesn't match the reverse design. There is a little more between the mouth and ITE.

there's quite a bit of "Longacre" doubling going on around the letters, which is a product of die prep. On close exam the 3 appears repunched and there seems to be a die gouge or digit in the denticles.
