Just wanted to share what I picked up this weekend. I'm going to start my Birth Year Set. 1957 was a Great Year. Here are my first two coins for the set. I think they have great eye appeal:
The site I found the coins for my Birth Year Set also had some other great coins that I picked up:
You should check the reverse of the 1957 proof cent closely for a doubled die. There are a number of them for that year, some of them are really nice and quite valuable. Look especially at the dot between E and P of the motto, noting whether it appears doubled, oval shaped, or circular. If the latter, you have a normal proof cent. If either of the others, you have a doubled die that could be valuable.
Additionally, there is a class 6 DDO known for 1957 proof cents. It would appear as extra thickness in the date, LIBERTY and motto, especially closer to the rim. I have an example around here somewhere, but failed to locate it for inclusion in this post. If you think yours may be this die, I could hunt a little deeper and get back to you tomorrow on it.
