Bonds Auction Complaint

I put some of my Bonds stuff up on Ebay about two weeks ago. A couple psa9's and one psa 10. The 10 went for 350. I was pretty pleased the dude who bought my 10 emailed me today...

<< <i>Hi, I got this card last week and have a question. Did you get this card graded yourself? I am a little curious how it got a PSA 10 as it is slightly offcentered and has chipping on the back (edges). Just curious. Thanks >>

I sent the card in myself so I know what it scored. What do you guys think? The guy has a great rating.. but I think he is fishing for a refund. It bothers me

He's probably just curious about the grade. He may not realize that a PSA 10 does not mean the card is completely flawless, especially when it comes to centering and the condition of the back.

I don't see how you can be responsible for anything in this situation, PSA grades are final, and a PSA 10 is a PSA 10 if they label it so, as long as it hasn't been tampered. Your buyer is SOL.

Buying a Bonds card in the past week is nearly the equivalent to someone who bought shares of Enron in the week before their scandal was exposed. The stock holders still had a short window of time to dump the stock to recoup a fraction of their money... same deal with the Bonds cards... you have a couple more days to dump his cards before the next bomb is dropped... and I have a good feeling that next bomb will be Bonds announcing he's retiring effective immediately.
  • It sounds like he thinks a 10 is perfect. I would just let him know that no card is "perfect".
  • i'm sorry but idiots like this take all the fun out of ebay --your response should be:yes i grade all the cards myself thus insuring that they all get graded gem mint 10.or yes,i own psa so i get the grades i want, all gem mint 10.

A761506 the enron anology is GOOD!

Quite a few of the 1987 Fleer Bonds RC's have chipping on the back, and still grade as PSA 10's. I am not as familiar with the 1986 Fleer Update RC (which I assume is the one you are talking about), but I imagine the same thing applies. The question of "who sent this card in?" really is irrelevant, and I hope you advise him as such.
