US Mint Advertising on TV

On Fox New Channel I saw an ad by the US Mint for the proof sets and ASEs -- the first time I have seen a US Mint ad on TV. It's about time!! Nice to see a TV ad for coins that are not overpriced (Coin Vault) or fake/misleading (WTC coins).

As I recall, the U.S Mint does run ads during the Holiday Season.

Well, I meant grossly overpriced (i.e. 2 or more times fair market value).

Glad I got my 2004 mint sets, though!!!

Keep in mind that the more the Mint advertises, the more they will have to charge. TV ads are expensive.

And not particularly effective. Even with all of their print and TV ads they still make 90% of their sales to the people already on their mailing lists.
