No question - the half dollar. Why? Because it's a half dollar.

I'm with Russ on this one. Take the half.

I don't see these being bought at the same money but I would buy the cent.image

  • That bust half has great details and is problem free. It's a nice specimen. Although the cent is high-grade and a proof I'm not a huge fan of the colour.

I'd go for the half... it's nice and original, and I think waiting on the IHC, you'll find a nicer one... I think the reverse looks kinda bad, and there are 65RBs that have some exceptional color to them (like mine image)

image Wasn't a very challenging question liked I hope. I was in a rush. The colors are a little dull on the IH and the reverse is weak. The Bust Half does do the trick for me though! Appreciate It! Lee

I know nothing about pricing on proof IHC's, but wouldn't that be worth much more than a common date R1 bust half in ef45??
While I LOVE bust halves, and I love that die break on that particular half, it looks like one that was dipped and then retoned- albeit nicely. But I'm always a little thrown off by the bust halves with bright centers...... But it's still a nice one, and I respect anyone looking for nicely detailed bust halves!!

    No contest, the half.
  • Even though some dealers tell me they think over 85% of the bust halves are messed with, IF you're sure that one is OK, I like the classic date half better. The cent might be a better $ deal however, IMHO.

If you have to ask, then I wouldn't buy either of them. Why spend your hard earned money on something that doesn't grab you right away?

BTW - I don't think the half is original and I don't like the IHC. Just my opinions based on perhaps inaccurate photos....

  • The half. I'm partial to nice, old, large silver.

If both are offered at the same price, then either the half is over-priced or there is something wrong with the cent that is not apparent from the photo (other than the "less than perfect" color).

Irrespective of price, I like the half over the cent. And based on the photo alone, ANACS may have been a bit hard on the grade . . . it looks mightly close to an AU.

I love the look of that half. And that would be my choice based on the look of the coins shown.
