PSA/Postal Service lost package?

Question:

I realize that it is the end of the month of a PSA grading special (November). In the past, PSA would often get behind just logging in orders, as many people wait till the end of the month to send in packages.

I sent in an order on November 24th - via express mail. PSA should have received it by the 26th, or possibly the next Monday, the 29th. I still, as of today December 3rd, not received an email indicating that the received my order.

The question is - at what point to I become concerned? It seems like a week should have been plenty of time to acknowledge an order received. Again, I realize they probably are very busy.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Possibly folks that sent in an order at about the same time?

Thanks!

Mags

That happened to me once. It took them 3 weeks to enter it in. If you have a Postal tracking number then you should be able to see if they received it.

PSA is being TERRIBLY slow at entering in orders to its system right now.
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

You shipped in a "holiday" timeframe. Did you do the usual prerequesites - that being certified mail and service type on the outside of the package? Even if you didn't, you can call customer service with your tracking number and they will let you know if it is "in house" even if it hasn't been logged in. Regards.

  • Yes, I sent it with the service type outside of the package.

Typically I send cards in registered. However, this time, being a small order, I sent it express mail, with postal insurance (it was cheaper than registered, being a small order).

Hopefully they are still just backed up. I do have insurance either way - but I should have added a delivery confirmation.

I guess just another small lession in life.... I'll do that next time.

    Thanks everyone!

  • I sent priority on Nov 27 and it was just logged yesterday (Dec 3). I never received an email about it, I just check the website obsessively. Don't panic, I'm sure they'll log it soon.

I have noticed that the email notification system isn't working as reliably as it used to. I just check my submission numbers on the web page for now, I'm sure they are just busy given the $5 special.

  • I personally handed some cards to PSA at the chicago show on 11-20. They banded them up and put it in the appropriate box and it still didn't get "entered in the computer" until 12-2. they told me on the phone they were absolutely swamped with orders, and apologized. So i wouldn't worry just yet...

Not to mention that they must be swamped as people are trying to beat the new service fee structure that starts in January.

Turnaround time was horrible with the last modern special. Much faster this time.

    ...or was it never sent?

    Good for you.
  • One time my order wasnt enter for 3 weeks, had it insured for some big money as well$$$. After 3 or 4 calls in they finally found the package, and I had paid for 50 grades and sent in 51 cards, had multiples or something. They wanted me to authorize the extra few bucks.

    Ranger,

do a search on that "lost" card and you will see many different posts about it.
