It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

  • It was an Oil and Chemical Plant Southwest of Houston in Missouri City, the explosion was felt over 20 miles away. The resulting fire is enormous. image

  • No evacuations. Marcus Oil and chemical plant has blown up. No casualties so far. Windows as far as 10 miles away blown out.

  • I probably live 12 to 15 miles away, as the crow flys.

I heard and felt the explosion and now the sky is so overcast that no light can be seen in that direction from my front yard.

I can definately smell it in the air if I go outside. I have been down in that area before, that whole part of town is chemical/oil plants. It goes on for miles.

Doesn't appear to be any fatalities at this point. Bet on a lot of people living in that area being displaced for a night or two.

    Still kicking.
  • Talk about double trouble. It's a chemical plant that turns petroleum into high quality wax.

    Anybody got any marshmellows.

The only damage here is that most of the local stations are covering the event and frosty the snowman gor preempted.

  • Since the company uses oil I'm sure that we will all feel it in the gas tank in a couple days. (Even though the company does not refine oil into gasoline, and that oil is down about $14 a barrel from its high.)

Heard it and felt it. We're probably 6-7 miles away from it.
