I snuck in the Balimore Show (to see auction lots) and it was humming

I just got home to D.C. from the show in Baltimore (just could't wait another day!) where they gave me a badge to view auction lots at Bowers and Merena. I had lunch at the table of a dealer friend, and watched as box after box of big dollar certified and raw gold coins changed hands with the signing of a slip of paper. At other tables there were gold slabs piled up so high I thought I had taken a wrong turn and gone into the vault at Fort Knox. The action was hot and heavy and I now see why dealers are so tired by the time us collectors show up. My friend "flipped" a nice group of 20 raw AU Morgans to me to be paid for later, so the day went well even for a silver guy. Can't wait to return tomorrow because there was some nice stuff in some dealer's trays--as well as the auction.
