Custom access database

I was thinking of making an access database to track coins, I already have a simple one, but I dont know what information to put into it.

A few examples are of a few coloumns I already have, any suggestions would be great, i am also willing to share the access db.

Coin ID
Coin Type
Year
Mint Mark
Grade

Any help would be great

I have been thinking of doing the same thing myself. I currently have my inventory and want list in an Excel spreadsheet and it works well. But I could do so much more with access. I work as a software consultant and do quite a bit of development work with access. You would be surprised what you can do with it. If you need any help with access feel free to pm me.

I have an access database set up for my coin collection and have been using it everyday for the past year and a half. Its great, once the information is in the database you can create a report and then export this report to excel and you're set!

Some of the following are elements in my database:

Collection Id
Year
Mint
Grade
Certified (Y/N)
Certified by
Certification Nbr
Certification Notes
Cost base
Physical location
General Notes
Purchased from
Purchased date
Sell Date
Sell Amount


Most of the fields listed are lookup values, that means once you have a form created you can choose what to put into the field via list of another table.
