I'm starting to find these errors very cool, most of the time unique pieces, and still flying under the collecting radar.image

Now on that quarter.... are they considering nice greasy fingerprints "Errors" these days? First they go from prints to "Textile" and now errors.

Man, this competition with Marty is getting nuts. image Now I need to see if I can find something at my local show on Saturday.

STman, any greasy prints on my coins ARE errors. image

NWCS, it's purely coincidental. A friend bought an estate not long ago, and I got to look today. image That doesn't mean I won't go to Chicago and shop. image

Very cool, I like the struck by a capped die!
It is not exactly cheating, I prefer to consider it creative problem solving!!!

It appears that the off-center 1944 cent was struck on a blank ("Type I planchet"). Nice find.

Mike, thanks. Yes, the 44 is completely flat. I'm still trying to figure out the 82.

The 1982 cent was struck through a late-stage obverse die cap. They sometimes have have a wrinkled appearance. Texture varies enormously.
