Poll........do I trust this buyer?

tsacchtsacch Posts: 2,929 ✭✭✭
I sold a $20 coin to a person in Canada, I have no prior relationship with him...he sends an email, "Hi Tom, just came back from buying and mailing out your money order. I was wondering if I emailed you a scan of the MO, if you'd be able to ship out the phone right away. I was hoping to have it here by christmas. Let me know. Thanks"

Trust or not.

oh, he is about a week into getting me the money after he already supposedly tried to paypal me several times......"it wont go through"

my vote is to wait for $$$ in hand.

  • Always make it a policy to have the person send the $$$ and you send the goods once you recieve it.

Think of it as a game:

Rule 1 - Buyer pays Seller (Seller receives payment)

Rule 2 - Seller sends Buyer item won

Pretty simple. Anybody doing business on Ebay should know these rules.........Rick

That's his eBay feedbag? Forget it -- wait for the money. Way too many negs.

send him a picture of the coin.
  • If you get the MO soon and ship right away the coin should arrive in time for Christmas. I would wait for the MO.

  • If he needed it right away he would not of waited a week. Also he could
have sent funds for faster shipping.

This buyer is a total stranger right ? It's only good business to have the money cleared before sending any merchandise. When I send a check for coins, I expect the check to clear before anything is shipped to me. image

If he's that concerned, $20 item or not, he can shell out a few more bucks for expedited shipping.

I can't imagine that it wouldn't make it before Christmas unless they live in an igloo in a remote, far northern place on the Nunavut tundra.

Given the fake money order problems, No.

Hell, even if it's real, a picture doesn't mean that he's actually sent it to you.

  • My experience with Canadians has been poor. fully 75% of various different business dealing with them are bogus. Wait for the money order, which is probably in Canadian money to clear you bank, not just getting it.
