I know you have said in the past that it is tough to get a 1969 clad quarter in good shape. Here is one I picked up on eBay for $40....

These usually come poorly struck and despite the weaknesses especially on LIBERTY this
is very well struck for the date. The little marks on the obverse are probably planchet
defects that weren't obliterated in the strike. It's a nice solid gem of a date that's rarely
seen nice.
Sorry about your pcgs submission. I had an 82-p half, thought was at least ms65, likely ms66, and they ms64'd it. I am beginning to think they've gone a whole grade tighter on clads recently. Just when I actually have a bunch I want to send in .
<< <i>Man, the PCGS price guide says that's $25. Is $40 the real price point? Makes me wonder about my 68-D with peripheral toning in PCGS 66. >>
One went for $58 on Heritage. On Teletrade one went for $110 and the other for $95. The PCGS POP is 47/3 so there are not a lot of them out there. I know, it's a modern and the POPS are unstable but it does have a lower POP than a lot of the other from that time.

As far as the 68-D goes it's a little different story. The PCGS population on the 68-D in MS66 is 290 with 61 higher.

If you're going to make a comment like that then you should give some detail....
I think the quarter looks like butt in that auction listing scan, and I think that's what grip is alluding to.....

You're right, the auction picture wasn't very good. That probably did play in my favor.
